The organizers of the International Krakow Book Fair® have introduced many new solutions to enhance the comfort of all participants at this literary event.
- The most significant change is the considerable expansion of the exhibition space. A special tent hall called "Karpaty Hall," with a 3,000 m² area, will be constructed specifically for the Book Fair. This "Author Zone" will be dedicated to book signings by authors. Additionally, there will be an outdoor street food area where visitors can eat and relax. It's worth bringing your own (non-glass) water bottle, which can be refilled at water dispensers located throughout the fairgrounds.
- This year, ticket prices on Thursday and Friday will be lower, catering to visitors primarily interested in purchasing books.
- Free entry will be available for seniors aged 65+, holders of the National Senior Card, children under 7, people with disabilities and their caregivers. Discounts will also apply to students, holders of the Large Family Card, Krakow Family Card 3+, and there will be family tickets and 4-day passes. These offers, which have worked well in previous years, will be continued in 2024.
- Entrance limits will be introduced for this year's fair. Online ticket sales will open in mid-September. Organizational changes will also affect the entry and exit areas, with separate queue lanes for those holding online tickets and those purchasing tickets at the venue. For safety, there will be checks on people and items at the entrance. Additionally, on Saturday and Sunday, a special entrance will be available for seniors, people with disabilities, and their caregivers.
- Another important organizational change is the ability to leave and return to the fair. When exiting, simply inform a security guard of your intention to return, and you'll receive a stamp allowing re-entry on the same day.
- A convenient new feature for visitors will be the Book Shipping Point located on-site. This service allows visitors to have their purchased books delivered to a specified address, eliminating the need to worry about transporting them.
- It's worth noting that the EXPO Krakow venue is the largest exhibition facility in Małopolska, with a flat, air-conditioned space and a modern ventilation system, ideal for hosting trade events. This year, further improvements will be made to enhance visitor comfort, including reducing heat emissions by switching to LED lighting for the exhibition stands.
