It was solemnly announced during a seminar organized at the Polish Institute in Stockholm. The meeting was attended by, among others Susanne Bergström Larsson from the Swedish Culture and Art Council, Henrik C. Enbohm from the Swedish Institute, representatives of the Embassy of Sweden, the Polish Institute, representatives of Swedish publishers, translators of Swedish literature into Polish and a delegation of the Targi w Krakowie Ltd.

Swedish literature is a brand in itself. The whole fascination of readers in this country in many cases has just begun from the crime novels. Their authors have an unbelievable ability to build a unique climate, where a neat intrigue keeps the reader in tension to the last page. Henning Mankell, Håkan Nesser or Stieg Larsson, the author of the iconic crime series "Millennium", is only the prelude of a long list of genius Swedish writers.

Books are doors that lead out into the street is the slogan of the International Book Fair in Krakow this year. The words of Arturo Pérez-Reverte from the novel the Queen of the South are a metaphor of an adventure that awaits the reader every time he reaches for a new, undiscovered book.
The International Book Fair in Krakow also gives an opportunity for such an adventure. It is not only great literature, but also face-to-face meetings with authors, discussions about writing nuances, exhibitions and film screenings.
This year, the organizers invite you to a meeting with the mysterious culture of Sweden during the International Book Fair in Krakow!
